USA Field Hockey has been invited to play in the 1st ever Para Hockey World Cup.

Sign up to stay in the loop and to learn about trying out for the team.

August 20-28, 2026 in Belgium or the Netherlands, final location to be determined by assigment.

USA Field Hockey will put togther and play a co-ed national team of 10 men and women to represent the USA at this exciting event!  We want YOU to try out for this team!
  • 16 nations are invited, divided into two pools of 8 teams.
  • Teams will play all others in their pool (7 matches).
  • Pool matches will take place near the FIH Hockey World Cup venues.
  • Classification matches will be staged in the main World Cup stadiums:
    • Final: Wavre (Belgium)
    • Bronze medal match: Amstelveen (Netherlands)
    • Only one of the teams playing the final or bronze medal match will channmjge venue; all others remain at their pool venue.
  • Each team will play 8 matches in total.

Players

  • Teams are mixed gender, with 10 players and 5 staff.
    • At least 2 players of the minority gender must be on the field at all times (one may be the goalkeeper).
    • A 6:4 ratio is recommended to account for possible illness or injury.
  • Matches will follow the FIH Rules of ParaHockey (Hockey ID) and the FIH ParaHockey World Cup Regulations (to be published)

Player Eligibility

  • Players must be listed on the IPC Virtus National Eliginility List which requires:
    • IQ of 75 or below
    • Limitations in adaptive behaviour
    • Onset before age 22
    • Registration occurs in USA
